Welcome to Our Soft Wash Center
Soft washing is a cleaning method that utilizes high water volume and low pressure (less than garden hose pressure) washing technique along with a precisely measured mixture of cleaning agents and surfactants to safely rid surfaces of dirt, mold, mildew and algae stains.
— What is the difference between Soft Washing and Pressure Washing? —
Although soft washing and pressure washing seem similar they use different techniques, equipment, and cleaners. Pressure washing utilizes high pressure water spray up to 3000psi to remove dirt, mold, mildew and grime from hard surfaces. Soft washing utilizes water spray with only on average approximately 200psi and cleans utilizing high water volume mixed with industry and surface specific cleaners. Soft washing should be used on surfaces that could easily be damaged if one were to use high pressure on them such as siding, trim, shingles, and any other softer surfaces.
comparing soft washing & pressure washing is like comparing apples and oranges
Gloeocapsa Magma(algae/bacteria) is common on roofs and leaves signature black streaks and stains all over your shingles. These organic black stains are not only unsightly but are growing and spreading via a root system that embeds into your shingles. These root systems damage and lift shingles which leads to water intrusion and will bring an early end to the life of a roof. HydroPro’s Soft Wash technique eliminates all organic growth and removes the root systems that have grown in, around, and under your shingles and safely returns them to their original color.
Under no circumstances should any type of roof be pressure washed. This is especially true for asphalt shingles which are used to roof the majority of our homes in the Birmingham area. Applying excess pressure to these types of roofs will certainly result in stripping asphalt granules and could easily cause lifting or cracking. HydroPro is the experienced experts in the soft wash process and have many highly satisfied customers with like new looking and functioning roofs that were told prior to our washing that they needed to replace their roof. Do not replace your roof until we have had the opportunity to provide you a free inspection for washing and restoring your roof at a very, very small fraction of any replacement costs.
— Should My House be Pressure Washed or Soft Washed? —
HydroPro usually only Soft Wash houses. Brick can be pressure washed but it rarely needs to be washed with certain exceptions. Brick siding is less likely to grow that unsightly mold and mildew with the exception of around the base of your home or in the case of heavily shaded homes. Even when brick has organics readily growing and mud or clay staining usually from rain splatter, it still may likely be best to Soft Wash. HydroPro will take Into special consideration the type of mortar, any glazed concrete coating, or even if your brick is painted before any type of wash is selected for your home. To prevent potential damage to your home, HydroPro will only Soft Wash whether it be vinyl, wood, aluminum, hardy board, composite, stucco, or drivit siding. In the case of Brick homes, we most often Soft Wash the painted surfaces (i.e. Facia, Soffit, Eaves, Windows/Door Trim, Gutters/Downspouts) and spot pressure wash problem areas on the brick.
